We are thrilled to introduce you to one of our newest artisans and Friend of Sankara, Sadaf!

Sadaf is local mother of (soon to be) 3, who is originally from Pakistan. She learned to sew from her mother, who in turn learned to sew from her own mother. When Sadaf was a teenager, her mother worked for a company sewing clothes, and Sadaf would help her by sewing at home as well. Now Sadaf is selling her clothes on her own! She uses the ideas and styles learned by working with her mother. She enjoys creating pretty color and pattern combinations. She does hand embroidery, crochet, and machine embroidery on her clothing and scarves.

We will have a selection of her machine and hand embroidered kurtis and scarves in the shop. So, come meet Sadaf, ask questions about her craft, her process, and whatever else you are curious about. And, don’t forget to book your tickets to the Block Party just after! You can have a unique new top or scarf to wear during the event!

Sadaf will be in the shop on Saturday, May 20th between Noon and 3 PM.
